ITD GARVEE Funded Corridors

The GARVEE Transportation Program is a funding program that allows Idaho to plan, design and build more highway projects in less time than through traditional transportation funding methods. It uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to fund critical improvements in six transportation corridors throughout the state. In November 2005, the Idaho Transportation Board recommended $998 million in GARVEE bonds to be brought to the Idaho Legislature. Funding authorizations are requested annually. The first funding authorization of $200 million was approved in the 2006 legislative session. Another $250 million was approved in the 2007 session, and $134 million was approved in the 2008 session. Most recently, $82 million was approved during the 2009 legislative session. Currently, six corridors are funded by the GARVEE Transportation Program. Each corridor includes one or more Connecting Idaho project. The six GARVEE Corridors are:
