How to Apply
OverviewIdaho receives $1 million each year in SR2S funding for projects that enable and encourage more K-8 students to walk or bicycle safely to school. The applications are reviewed by a statewide SR2S Advisory Committee (SR2SAC). The SR2SAC selects the projects and recommends a prioritized list to the ITD Board for approval. Applications for funding should demonstrate the following to have a good chance of being funded:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Meade New SR2S mini-grants for FY12 New SR2S mini-grants for FY12 The SR2S program provides technical assistance through to help facilitate planning activities to help identify issues preventing students from walking and bicycling to school safely. Communities/schools who are awarded will receive technical assistance from transportation professionals with a background in transportation and community planning to assist with the development of a comprehensive travel plan for a specific school. We are accepting applications for planning assistance up to March 31, 2012. Depending on the volume of applications received, we will announce whether additional applications will continue to be accepted after that date. To be considered please send the attached SR2S Comprehensive Planning Assistance application to the ITD SR2S Program Coordinator. Comprehensive Planning Assistance application Annual Call For Applications Due to the volume of applications received for FY13 infrastructure funding, we found it necessary to program most of the available FY14 infrastructure funds during the last funding cycle. The SR2S Application Supplement must be used to report data all additional schools included in the application.
