Why it Matters
Interstate 15 is the main north south arterial in eastern Idaho, running 196 miles between Utah and Montana. Leveling and sealing northbound I 15 between Idaho Falls and Osgood will improve the riding surface of this 8.5 mile stretch while helping to prolong its life. Seal coating will increase the highway’s skid resistance for improved vehicle traction in the winter months.
Project Description
This project will consist of overlaying the north bound lane surface between milepost 119 and 128 with a thin layer of asphalt plant mix (asphalt blended with crushed rock). Classified as “heavy maintenance,” the project will also include seal coating and striping.
