Abstract:The objective of these studies is to determine the impact, if any, of highway construction and operation upon the value of remainders of certain parcels of abutting private property from which right-of-way was obtained. In most cases, it was found that the remainder had been sold for prices far in excess of the appraised valuation at the time of the right-of-way purchase; in fact, even far in excess of the projected appraisal.
