Project Description:
This project will evaluate low-cost alternatives that have the potential to improve the safety of passing lanes in Idaho’s two-lane rural highways.
The objectives of this project are:

To examine the effectiveness of improved signage on the safety and efficiency of the passing lane operations.
To examine the effectiveness of alternative striping and pavement marking on reducing the speed at passing lane locations.
To document the characteristics of passing lane crashes in Idaho's two-lane rural state highways.
