ITD Idaho 75 Timmerman To Ketchum

Project Number: 3077Key Number: STP-F-2392(035) The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) are conducting an environmental impact statement (EIS) to reconstruct 27 miles of Idaho 75 from Timmerman Junction (U.S. 20 and Idaho75 intersection) to the City of Ketchum. The project includes widening the roadway on its existing alignment. This widening will generally provide two travel lanes in each direction, a center turn lane and shoulders from Bellevue to Ketchum. One lane in each direction plus passing lanes will be provided between Timmerman Junction and the City of Bellevue. Project Description
The Idaho 75 Timmerman to Ketchum EIS began in August of 2000 and has been conducted under the National Environmental Policy Act. The process included extensive coordination with regulatory and resource agencies and with Blaine County, the Cities of Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum and Sun Valley, local citizenry and businesses, landowners adjacent to the highway, and numerous Blaine County organizations.
The Draft Environmental Impact Statement was released for review in December 2005. A public hearing was held on Jan. 26, 2006 in the Blaine County Senior Center. The Final Environmental Impact Statement is now available. In accordance with federal requirements, a copy of the Final Environmental Impact Statement has been provided to federal, state, and local agencies, private organizations, and members of the public who commented on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. In accordance with 23 CFR 771.127, this Final Environmental Impact Statement will be available for review for a minimum of 30 days from the time the Environmental Protection Agency publishes a notice of availability in the Federal Register. This notice of availability was published in the Federal Register on Friday, March 28, 2008. The review period in that notice has been extended from Monday, April 28, 2008 to Friday, May 9, 2008. A record of decision will be signed by FHWA after the review period has ended. The record of decision will conclude this environmental process under the National Environmental Policy Act. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is committed to compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related regulations and directives. ITD assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any ITD service, program, or activity. The department also assures that every effort will be made to prevent discrimination through the impacts of its programs, policies, and activities on minority and low-income populations.
