The Timber Way to Big Wood River Bridge is the first phase of the Timmerman to Ketchum Corridor to be designed and constructed as directed in the Final Environmental Impact Statement. The project limits begin where Timber Way intersects with Idaho 75 (approximately .25 mile north of East Fork Road) and terminates 600 feet south of the Big Wood River Bridge near Hospital Drive.

The reconstruction project will include two lanes in each direction with intermittent center turn bays for access to residences and businesses. Other improvements will include bus turnouts, improved acceleration and deceleration lanes, and an improved signal at Hospital Drive.

WHPacific, a Boise-based consulting firm, has been selected to design the project and provide complete construction plans to be completed by 2012. WHPacific has a proven track record with ITD and brings many years of highway engineering experience to the project. It will provide survey documentation, design plans, and complete PS&E (plans, specifications, and estimates) for construction. WHPacific will be completing survey activities with Right of Way acquisitions following the summer of 2010 and construction plans finishing in the spring of 2012. ITD staff will provide right of way acquisition activities for the project.
