ITD US-91 North Corridor Plan
Project Facts
Key Number: 08116Project Number: STP-1767(101) The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has developed a 20-year corridor plan for US-91 to provide a comprehensive, long-range planning document that will guide corridor management and project programming over the next 20 years. The US-91 Corridor Plan addresses transportation needs and proposed improvements for 40 miles of US-91 from Siphon Road in the City of Chubbuck to Sunnyside Road in the City of Idaho Falls. A Public Review Draft US-91 Corridor Plan is now available for review and comment. Project Background
The corridor plan examines the role of US-91 in the transportation system, identifies existing roadway problems and needs, documents existing environmental and land use conditions that may be impacted or benefit from future highway improvements, what the future transportation conditions and needs will be in 20 years, and develops goals and objectives for future improvements to, and management of the highway.
The Public Review Draft Corridor Plan recommends a number of corridor-long safety improvement management strategies as well as several specific improvement projects. The plan was developed in consultation with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, business and community stakeholders, city and county elected officials and technical staff, resource agency representatives, adjacent landowners, and other interested parties in the corridor study area.
