U.S. 30, 12th Street to Crystal Springs Road

Project Facts
Project No. A009(891)
Key No. 09891
MP 360.9 to 363.3
This project reconstructed 2.1 miles of highway just west of the Portneuf River Bridges project, from 12th Street to Crystal Springs Road. The project expands the highway section to four lanes of travel. The improvements will increase safety and capacity on U.S. 30, a heavily-used trucking route. This segment is part of a larger effort to improve U.S. 30 between McCammon and Soda Springs.
Background

Approximately 31 miles of major widening and realignment from McCammon to Fish Creek (west of Soda Springs) was carried through preliminary design, public hearing and environmental approval in 2002.

Schedule and Funding

Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) determination in 2002. Final design was performed by ITD District 5 and completed in January 2009.

Construction for this project started in May 2009, and the project was completed in August 2010.

The 12th Street to Crystal Springs Road project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite highway construction projects.
