Idahoans now have a faster, easier way to find out where their vehicle is if it was abandoned and towed, or towed at the direction of law enforcement. Customers who set up a DMV Online Portal account and opt in to e-notifications will get an email or text about their vehicle. Customers who have not set up e-notifications will get a letter in the mail.

Look for an improved light package being tested on ITD snowplows this winter in an effort to minimize snowplow strikes and improve safety.

Starting Feb. 1, 2026, the Transportation Security Administration will impose a $45 fee on passengers traveling without a REAL ID-compliant identification card, such as Idaho’s Star Card, or another acceptable document. The fee applies to both international and domestic travel.

Comments will inform the update to ITD’s Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan, a federally required strategy document that is updated every five years and is used by the Idaho Transportation Board and planning staff as a guide to program future studies and projects.
