HANSEN – The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting a public open house on Tuesday, December 2, to share information and collect input about possible improvements to the intersection of State Highway 50 and Rock Creek Road (N 3800 E).
The open house will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Rock Creek Fire District office (1559 Main St N) in Kimberly. An online meeting will also be available at ITDProjects.Idaho.Gov/pages/50RockCreek from December 2 to December 16 to give members of the public who cannot attend in person an opportunity to participate.
SH-50 is an important corridor connecting U.S. Highway 30 to Interstate 84 and is heavily used to transport agricultural goods. . Improvements may include shifting local roads to increase sight distance on SH-50, building a traffic signal at SH-50 and Rock Creek Road, and reducing the number of locations where traffic can access SH-50 to increase safety and mobility.
Community members are encouraged to provide input to assist ITD in the design process. The input gathered at the open house is important to the project’s success.
