Franklin Interchange Repaving Update
Paving work at the Franklin Road Interchange (Exit 1A) in Boise Begins Monday, July 13
What to expect:
- Work will take place at night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Only one ramp will be closed at a time.
Anticipated paving schedule:
- Eastbound off-ramp: Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14
- Eastbound on-ramp: Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16
- Westbound on-ramp: Friday, July 17 and Sunday, July 19
- Westbound off-ramp: Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21
Overview
The Idaho Transportation Department will begin repaving multiple on- and off-ramps along I-84 and I-184 in the Treasure Valley.
Repaving is an extensive process that involves removing the old roadway and placing new pavement. This process addresses flaws in the roadways and restores the surface of the ramps.
ITD will pave ramps at the following interchanges:
- Franklin Road Interchange (Exit 1A) in Boise
- Eagle Road Interchange (Exit 46) in Meridian
- Ten Mile Interchange (Exit 42) in Meridian
- Garrity Interchange (Exit 38) in Nampa

Anticipated Traffic Impacts
Here’s what to expect:
- Work will begin the week of July 13 and is anticipated to be complete by mid-September.
- Most work will take place at night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Only one ramp will be closed at a time.
- Traffic will be detoured.
