Riverton Road Bridge Replacement

The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the Riverton Road Bridge over Interstate 15 (I-15) near Blackfoot. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2026.

Overview

The Riverton Road Bridge was originally scheduled to be replaced as part of the I-15 Exit 89 to Exit 93 Widening project. After sustaining damage from a vehicle strike in November 2025, ITD has determined that the most cost-effective path forward is to replace the bridge ahead of schedule. Construction on the new bridge began in May and is expected to be completed in late 2026.

This bridge design will be compatible with widening improvements designed for I-15, as well as improvements planned by the city of Blackfoot for Riverton Road.
