ITD is increasing the width restriction on the SH-21 Mores Creek Bridge to better accommodate commercial traffic during construction.

Starting tomorrow, the Idaho Transportation Department is increasing the width restriction on the State Highway 21 Mores Creek Bridge project to allow vehicles up to 12 feet wide to improve access for commercial vehicles during construction.

Crews will remove concrete barriers and use traffic barrels that are easier to move to provide additional width through the work zone. The bridge will remain reduced to one lane, with the existing temporary signal controlling alternating traffic throughout the project.

To provide additional flexibility to commercial freight through the work zone, loads wider than 12 feet require advance coordination by emailing Josh Moerer at josh.moerer@itd.idaho.gov. Commercial freight must continue to obtain required permits through the ITD permitting tool.

Originally constructed in 1953, the Mores Creek Bridge has undergone several maintenance and preservation projects over the years. Regular maintenance and preservation work helps extend the life of existing infrastructure and delays the need for full replacement. Through these repairs, ITD anticipates extending the service life of the Mores Creek Bridge by more than 25 years.

Motorists should slow down through the work zone and check Idaho 511 for current road conditions. For construction information and updates, visit the Mores Creek Bridge project webpage.
