Drivers will experience short term, overnight lane reductions and ramp closures near the SH-41 interchange ahead of tomorrow's traffic shift.

Drivers traveling on Interstate 90 should prepare for nighttime lane reductions for the next two nights between Huetter Road near Coeur d’Alene and Greensferry Road in Post Falls starting tonight at 8 p.m. as crews prepare for a westbound traffic shift tomorrow evening.

Overnight closures of the State Highway 41 ramps will also begin tomorrow. Drivers should plan for the following upcoming overnight ramp closures and detours in Post Falls:

  • Traveling from Coeur d’Alene toward Post Falls: Drivers will not be able to exit westbound I-90 at State Highway 41 (Exit 7) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Wednesday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 23. The off-ramp will reopen each morning, with the final closure ending Saturday morning. I-90 traffic will be detoured to the exit at Seltice Way.
  • Entering I-90 in Post Falls toward Spokane: The westbound on-ramp at SH-41 will close from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. Drivers should use Spokane Street to enter westbound I-90 during this one-night closure.

Also Wednesday night, westbound traffic between Huetter Road and SH-41 will shift to the south side of the interstate. This shift will allow crews to begin construction of the new westbound lanes, with work in this section continuing over the next year. Much of this upcoming work is weather-dependent, meaning inclement weather or cold temperatures may warrant the need for work to be rescheduled or extended. Drivers should check Idaho 511 for current traffic information. To sign up for email and text alerts for this project, contact ITD at  info@i90corridor.com
