Drivers and riders urged to “look twice” during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month
May 2, 2025
As warmer weather brings more motorcycles to Idaho roads, May is recognized as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. The Idaho Coalition for Motorcycle Safety and the Office of Highway Safety are urging both drivers and riders to stay alert and prioritize safety, especially in light of a sharp increase in motorcycle crashes and fatalities in 2023. To promote awareness, a Motorcycle Awareness Rally will be held on May 3 at Sandy Point, followed by a ride to the Capitol and a community BBQ. Officials stress that with rising crash numbers and low helmet use among adults, increased vigilance and training can save lives.

ITD Board approves funding for Snake River Crossing environmental analysis, and other traffic improvement efforts in the Magic Valley
