District 1: North Idaho
District 1 covers just more than 7,750 square miles of northern Idaho and maintains 1,472 lane miles, (lanes of road, on- and off-ramps, etc.) and 279 bridges. District 1 encompasses Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone counties.
District 2: North-Central Idaho
District 2 covers just over 13,000 square miles of north-central Idaho and maintains 1,500 lane miles (lanes of road, on- and off-ramps, etc.) and 180 bridges. District 2 encompasses Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce counties, with diverse geology highlighted by the pristine Clearwater River, one of the most scenic rivers in the United States.
District 3: Southwest Idaho
Serving nearly half of Idaho’s population and maintaining 40 percent of the state’s lane miles, District 3 includes 10 southwest counties ( Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Valley and Washington). The district also connects several of Idaho’s largest cities, including Boise, Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell, through major routes such as I-84, SH-21, SH-55 and U.S. 95.
District 4: South-Central Idaho
District 4 is made up of 11,553 square miles and maintains 2,321 lane miles and 290 bridges. It is the third largest district by area and by population with over 185,000 residents. District 4 has a diverse landscape with the highest Idaho mountain highway pass (Galena Summit, 8,721 ft.), fertile farms and the Snake River plain.
District 5: Southeast Idaho
District 5 covers almost 9,500 square miles in southeastern Idaho and maintains 1,900 lane miles (lanes of road, on- and off-ramps, etc.) and 315 bridges. District 5 encompasses seven counties (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power) spanning rich farm land and geology from scenic mountains to serene rivers and secluded valleys.
District 6: East Idaho
District 6 serves nine eastern Idaho counties (Lemhi, Custer, Butte, Bonneville, Jefferson, Clark, Teton, Madison and Fremont) and embodies a ‘No Boundaries’ mindset across three state borders. We ensure the safety and mobility of nearly 2,500 lane miles across some of the more challenging and beautiful terrain Idaho has to offer. District personnel are neighbors and citizens in the rural communities they serve, where routes such as US-20, SH-33, SH-28, US-93, US-26 and SH-31 are genuine lifelines.
