On Tuesday, traffic will be reduced to one lane, and periodically stopped in both directions, overnight on State Highway 16 as crews set bridge supports called girders for a future overpass.
This work, permitted by the Idaho Transportation Department, will take place between Deep Canyon Drive and Valnova Drive starting at 8 p.m. on Sept. 29, to 5 a.m. Sept. 30. Traffic will be temporarily stopped in both directions for up to 30 minutes as crews set a total of six girders over SH-16. Motorists should expect extended delays during these operations and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.
Construction will continue through fall as crews work on the overpass bridge that will ultimately improve access to SH-16.
