State Highway 24 will be closed under Interstate 84 at Exit 211 from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, through 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16. The closure will allow crews to remove the old I-84 westbound bridge.

The following detours will be in place to guide motorists:

  • Westbound traffic on SH-24 heading east will take the I-84 westbound on-ramp at Exit 211. At Burley (Exit 208), drivers will proceed over the interstate and return onto eastbound I-84 at the off-ramp at Exit 211.
  • Eastbound traffic on SH-24 heading west will take the I-84 eastbound on-ramp toward the Declo Interchange (Exit 216). Drivers will then take the off-ramp at Exit 216 to return onto westbound I-84 and rejoin SH-24 via the westbound off-ramp at Exit 211.

Construction has been underway since 2024 to update the Heyburn and Burley interchanges to meet growing traffic demands and is anticipated to be completed in 2026.

The project is funded as part of Gov. Little’s Leading Idaho transportation funding initiative. The Leading Idaho initiative allows ITD to take a deliberate approach to advance large projects that will enhance safety, improve mobility, further strengthen Idaho’s economy, and positively impact the Magic Valley and communities across the state for years to come.
