SH-55 reduced to one lane next week (Aug. 4 – Aug. 6)
Crews are paving SH-55 at the Fleming Creek Bridge next week.
What to expect:
- SH-55 reduced to one 11-foot lane with flaggers directing traffic.
- Tuesday night (Aug. 4) – Thursday (Aug. 6)
- Occasional flagging may occur on Friday (July 31), Tuesday (Aug. 4) during the day and Friday (Aug. 7) to accommodate work vehicles.
- The speed limit is reduced.
Please expect delays, plan extra time and check 511.idaho.gov to know before you go.
Overview
The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the State Highway 55 Fleming Creek Bridge approximately 3.7 miles south of Banks.
Work began in September 2024 and is expected to be completed in summer/fall 2026.


Project Description
The SH-55 Fleming Creek Bridge has reached the end of its design life. Replacing the bridge will ensure Fleming Creek can safely and reliably cross under SH-55 to the Payette River.
Work is expected to be completed in summer/fall 2026.
Construction Impacts
- A temporary traffic signal will direct motorists during lane closures.
- The speed limit will be reduced on SH-55.
- 11-foot width restrictions and no shoulders throughout the work zone.
- Intermittent lane closures.
