Work Continues on SH-55 at Fleming Creek Bridge

Work on SH-55 at the Fleming Creek Bridge is expected to be complete this summer.

Overview

The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the State Highway 55 Fleming Creek Bridge approximately 3.7 miles south of Banks.

Work began in September 2024 and is expected to be completed in summer/fall 2026.

Project Description

The SH-55 Fleming Creek Bridge has reached the end of its design life. Replacing the bridge will ensure Fleming Creek can safely and reliably cross under SH-55 to the Payette River.

Work is expected to be completed in summer/fall 2026.

Construction Impacts

During construction, motorists can expect:

  • A temporary traffic signal will direct motorists during lane closures.
  • The speed limit will be reduced on SH-55.
  • 11-foot width restrictions and no shoulders throughout the work zone.
  • Intermittent lane closures.
