Overview
Construction is expected to begin between June and July and be completed by late fall on the State Highway 41 bridge that spans the BNSF railroad tracks and connects State Highway 41 and State Highway 53.
What to expect during construction
All work impacting traffic is planned to take place at night to keep daytime disruptions to a minimum. The bridge carries two lanes of traffic in each direction with sidewalks on both sides. No daytime lane closures are expected; however, pedestrian detours may be in place directing sidewalk users to one side or the other.
Drivers using the intersections on either side of the bridge should be aware that some adjustments to traffic patterns may occur in the area throughout construction. Any detours or alternate routes will be clearly posted.
A similar companion project will begin in late March on the Greensferry overpass above Interstate 90 in Post Falls. Drivers should expect similar impacts during maintenance of that bridge.
