Overview
The Idaho Transportation Department is currently resurfacing Kimberly Road from Blue Lakes Boulevard to Eastland Drive and improving a section of Blue Lakes Boulevard near the Kimberly Road intersection.
Work includes new pavement, roadway base improvements, traffic signal upgrades at Kimberly Road and Blue Lakes Boulevard and at Kimberly Road and Locust Street, new curb ramps, curb-and-gutter improvements and other infrastructure upgrades
Traffic impacts
Kimberly Road is reduced to a single lane in each direction. Currently traffic is using the westbound lanes while the eastbound lanes are being reconstructed.
Nighttime work is underway. On September 2, milling of the 5-Point intersection will begin and will take several weeks to complete. Drivers will be traveling on base pavement during that time.
There will be intermediate closures on side road intersections as new curb ramps and curb-and gutter improvements are being made.
The traffic signal at Blue Lakes and Kimberly Road will be upgraded around October.
