Overview
The Idaho Transportation Department will remove the abandoned railroad bridge over US-95 near milepost 283 to eliminate one of the few vertical clearance restrictions on the US-95 corridor between Oregon and Canada, improving safety for oversized loads and supporting future improvements in the area.
Benefits
This structure must be removed because it crosses directly over US-95 and restricts vehicle clearance.
Removing the bridge will:
- Eliminate the risk of vehicles striking the structure.
- Improve freight mobility along Idaho’s primary north-south highway.
- Support future improvements in the Culdesac Canyon corridor.

Specific construction dates, closure times and detour information will be posted once plans are confirmed.
