The Board established the Subcommittee on 129,000 Pound Truck Routes in 2013 to implement Senate Bill 1117, allowing for permitted vehicles to haul up to 129,000 pounds on additional routes, and to oversee the process to consider additional routes. After the Subcommittee considers a request, it submits a recommendation to the Idaho Transportation Board for action.
Board Membership: Bob Hoff, who serves as chair, Mitch Watkins, and Paul Franz – rotating member. The Board member representing the District with routes on the agenda is to serve on the Subcommittee for that meeting.

The Board Subcommittee on Adjustments to the State Highway System was established in 1996 to review adjustments to the state highway system. After the Subcommittee considers a request, it submits a recommendation to the Idaho Transportation Board for action.
Board Membership: Julie DeLorenzo, who serves as chair, Mitch Watkins, and Gary Osborn – rotating member. The Board member representing the District with routes on the agenda is to serve on the Subcommittee for that meeting.

An Audit Subcommittee was established in 2003 and charged with interacting with internal and external auditors and performing specific financially related assignments as the Subcommittee and Board deem appropriate, and with providing periodic reports to the Board.
Board Membership: John Bulger, who serves as chair, and Paul Franz.
The Subcommittee generally meets once or twice each year; however, in mid-2018 it decided to strive to meet quarterly. The Chief Administrative Officer, Internal Review Manager, and Controller participate in the meetings. Subcommittee meetings are not open to the public.

The Board Subcommittee on Policies was established in 2012 to review Board Policy, which later expanded to include Administrative Policy. In August 2021, the Subcommittee’s status changed to open public meetings. After the Subcommittee considers a request, it submits a recommendation to the Idaho Transportation Board for action.
