Title VI of the Civil Rights Act states that “no person in the United States, shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.” Discrimination based on race, color or national origin is not permitted under any ITD program, service or activity, whether federally funded or not.
The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) does not and will not exclude from participation in or deny the benefits of its programs or activities; or subject anyone to discrimination or treat persons unfavorably based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), age, genetic information, disability, veteran status, limited English proficiency or economic status. In addition, ITD will not retaliate against any person who complains of discrimination or who participates in an investigation of discrimination.

Policy Statement
The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with the non-discrimination requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related Nondiscrimination authorities. Title VI and related Nondiscrimination authorities stipulate that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, income level, or Limited English Proficiency, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Complaint Information
Any person who believes they have, individually or as a member of any specific class of persons, been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, income level, or Limited English Proficiency has the right to file a formal complaint.
