This project aims to preserve and maintain critical infrastructure across the district.

Repairs will begin on Monday on the Palouse River Bridge on SH-9 near Harvard to kick off the ITD’s annual bridge maintenance project. Construction is planned on eight bridges across Latah, Clearwater, and Idaho counties and is scheduled until the end of August.

Work will be ongoing in one location for up to 12 days at a time. Traffic will be reduced to one lane from Monday to Friday at 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with temporary traffic signals guiding motorists through work zones. Delays are expected to remain under 15 minutes.

In June, Massana Construction, Inc. will complete construction on the following bridges:

  • Palouse River Bridge on SH-9 near Harvard
  • Big Bear Creek Bridge on SH-8 near Deary
  • West Fork Potlatch River Bridge on SH-8 near Bovill

Additional work will continue on the remaining bridges in July and August in these locations:

  • East Fork Potlatch Creek Bridge on SH-8 near Bovill
  • Ruby Creek Bridge on SH-8 near Bovill
  • Bear Creek Bridge on SH-3 near Kendrick
  • Middle Fork Potlatch Creek Bridge on SH-3 near Juliaetta
  • South Fork Clearwater River Bridge on SH-13 near Harpster

Repairs include bridge deck overlays, waterproofing, joint repairs and other preventative preservation treatments designed to protect bridge decks from deterioration and reduce the need for more robust repairs in the future. This project aims to preserve and maintain critical infrastructure across the district.

Travelers are encouraged to slow down, follow posted signage and check Idaho 511 or the project webpage for construction updates.
