Overview
Annual bridge maintenance and repairs ensure North–Central Idaho bridges remain in good condition to serve the traveling public year after year.
Annual Bridge Repair and Maintenance Projects
Each year, the Idaho Transportation Department conducts bridge repair work across north-central Idaho to preserve and maintain the structures that support the state highway system. Projects can include bridge deck sealing and paving, joint replacements, painting and structural repairs to address normal wear from traffic, weather and water exposure. Work may also occur below bridges on foundations and supports to help extend the service life of the structures. Repair locations and project scopes vary each year based on the condition and needs of individual bridges.
2026 Bridge Repairs
ITD will begin its annual bridge repair program across North–Central Idaho on June 1 and will focus on one bridge before moving to the next to reduce impact to travelers.
Work at each site is expected to take five days before crews move on to the next location. Drivers may see temporary traffic impacts at different locations as the season progresses. Drivers may encounter traffic control devices, lane reductions or restrictions, reduced speed limits and flagging through each of these work zones.
