New Eastbound I-84 Lanes Open This Week!

Eastbound I-84 traffic in Caldwell is moving onto new permanent lanes!

Crews will shift traffic from the center of the interstate onto the new eastbound lanes between Centennial Way and Franklin Road, including the new side of the 10th Avenue Interchange bridge.

To complete the traffic shift, three eastbound ramps will close overnight on Friday, Oct. 9.

Here’s what to expect:

  • The 10th Avenue and Franklin Road eastbound off-ramps will close.
  • The 10th Avenue eastbound on-ramp will close.
  • The ramps will close overnight on Friday, Oct. 9 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Motorists must exit early at Centennial Way (Exit 27). If you miss this exit, you will need to continue to Karcher Road (Exit 33) in Nampa. View the detour map.

Only one night of multiple ramp closures is needed to complete the traffic shift. Thank you for your patience as crews bring the project closer to completion!

TECM funding

This project is being funded with Transportation Expansion and Congestion Mitigation (TECM) funds as part of Governor Little’s Leading Idaho initiative. The program allows ITD to accelerate project timelines to address rapid growth and build critical infrastructure today that would otherwise take many years to fund and build.

The I-84 corridor is one of 13 approved TECM corridors in the state. Funding for the construction phases on this corridor will be determined based on project readiness and funding availability.
