Traffic will be reduced to one lane or moved to ramps as improvements to 11 bridges on I-15 toward the Montana state line begin this week.

This summer, the Idaho Transportation Department will apply a sealcoat to SH-55 between Horseshoe Bend and north of Banks to preserve the highway surface.

One lane of U.S. Highway 95 north of Riggins near Fiddle Creek is open after a mudslide closed the road completely. A lane has been cleared, and drivers can expect a pilot car with alternating directions of traffic through the slide zone.

Resurfacing operations are slated to start next week on portions of U.S. Highway 95, Washington Street and State Highway 8 in Moscow.

Last Chance Road and campground are closed until late 2025.

The new route was funded partially by Governor Little’s Leading Idaho program and was designed to be safer with a flatter grade, fewer curves and better access control.

Comments are due July 31.

Idaho saw an 18% drop in impaired driving deaths in 2024, but these crashes still caused over a third of all traffic fatalities. From July 1 to 13, 2025, expect increased patrols as ITD and law enforcement work to stop impaired drivers and save lives.
